Brampton dump hours and locations
Brampton has two “dumps,” which Peel Region calls Community Recycling Centres (CRCs). Peel’s Brampton CRC page and Heart Lake CRC page list the same Brampton dump hours for both.
| Site | Address | Hours | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brampton CRC | 395 Chrysler Dr., Brampton | 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Sunday | Tip trailers for shingles, fill, concrete and bulky items |
| Heart Lake CRC | 420 Railside Dr., Brampton | 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Sunday | Tip trailers for yard waste, wood, fill, concrete and bulky items; business hazardous waste; sells compost bins |
Both sites are closed on statutory and provincial holidays. Peel posts closures on its holiday hours page, so check it before a long weekend.
Are there extended Brampton dump hours?
Not right now. Neither CRC page lists extended hours this fall. In past years Peel has added seasonal evening hours at some sites: in 2024 it kept Brampton CRC open until 8 p.m. on certain days from May to October and Heart Lake until 8 p.m. on Thursdays from May to October, a 2024 Peel news release says. Watch for an announcement next spring.
What can you drop off for free at the Brampton dump?
Peel Region accepts several kinds of waste at no charge at both Brampton Community Recycling Centres. Its acceptable items list and fees page say these are free:
- Household hazardous waste, such as old items containing mercury and used sharps
- Recycling, including dedicated loads of recyclables
- Metal and electronics, in dedicated loads
- Large appliances in a dedicated load, such as fridges, freezers, stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, furnaces, hot water tanks and water coolers
- Reusable goods for donation, such as kitchenware, home décor, clothing, linens and books
“Dedicated” means the load holds only that material. Peel lists only dedicated loads of these as free, so keep them apart from your garbage.
Household hazardous waste
Hazardous waste is never picked up at the curb, Peel says, so a CRC is the place for it. Two rules from Peel’s household hazardous waste page:
- Sharps (needles, syringes and lancets) are accepted from residents only, and only in a biohazard container. Get a free one from the hazardous waste area at any CRC.
- Mercury items: bring the whole item. Don’t try to remove the mercury yourself.
For anything else, such as paint, batteries or propane cylinders, look the item up in Peel’s Waste Sorter before you load the car.

How much does the Brampton dump cost?
The Brampton dump charges by weight for garbage and other chargeable loads: a $7 minimum, then 14.5 cents per kilogram, Peel’s fees page says. You pay by debit, Visa or Mastercard. Cash is not accepted.
These loads carry a disposal fee:
- Garbage
- Residential yard waste
- Clean fill: soil, sod, topsoil, clay and sand
- Construction, renovation and demolition material (insulation must be double-bagged)
Peel’s fee page does not explain exactly how the $7 minimum and the per-kilogram rate combine for a given load. If you’re budgeting for a big renovation load, confirm the cost with Peel Region first.
Is yard waste cheaper to put at the curb?
Yes, for most households. Yard waste at the curb is free and collected weekly in the fall on your organics day, in paper bags or labelled containers. The curb season ends in early December, and our Brampton leaf pickup guide has this year’s last pickup week. Take yard waste to a CRC only when you have more than the curb takes, or after the season ends.
What to bring: ID and proof you live in Peel
You must show proof that you live in Peel Region, or that you own or work for a Peel business, before you unload at a Brampton Community Recycling Centre. Peel’s drop-off guidelines accept one of these for residents:

- Driver’s licence
- Water, gas or electricity bill
- Internet or phone bill
- Municipal tax bill
- Lease agreement (valid up to one year)
Businesses need more:
- Small businesses: an original signed letter on company letterhead
- Contractors: a signed contract or work order with a Peel address that refers to the company vehicle
All waste and recycling dropped off must come from Peel.
Also bring a debit or credit card, gloves, and something to secure your load on the drive over. Peel asks you to secure every load.
Vehicle and trailer rules at the Brampton dump
Peel accepts most cars, vans and pick-up trucks at its CRCs, with limits on size and weight. The rules from Peel’s drop-off guidelines:
| Vehicle | Allowed? |
|---|---|
| Cars, vans, pick-up trucks | Yes |
| Vehicle with a trailer | Yes, up to 12 m (40 ft) total |
| Box truck or cube van | Yes, up to 5 m (16 ft) |
| Any vehicle over 5 tonnes gross (vehicle plus load) | No |
| Dump trucks, stake trucks, roll-off trucks, garbage packers, tractor trailers | No |
| Small tip trucks up to 7.5 m (25 ft) | Fewster CRC in Mississauga only |
Tip trailers: pick the right Brampton site
Tip trailers up to 12 m are allowed at only four CRCs, and each takes certain materials only. In Brampton:
- Brampton CRC (Chrysler Dr.): shingles; clean fill, sod, bricks, asphalt and rubble; clean concrete; oversized and bulky items
- Heart Lake CRC (Railside Dr.): yard waste; wood; clean fill, sod, bricks, asphalt and rubble; clean concrete; oversized and bulky items
So a trailer of shingles goes to Chrysler Drive, and a trailer of wood or brush goes to Railside Drive.
Safety rules on the platform
Peel lists these rules for every CRC:
- Children under 12 stay in the vehicle while you unload.
- No walk-ins, bicycles or e-bikes on the unloading platform. You may walk or cycle to the reuse and hazardous waste areas, and scrap metal goes to the hazardous waste area in that case.
- Don’t stand on walls or guardrails, and take care throwing items into the bins.
- Put each material in the right bin.
- No scavenging.
- Staff may decide whether to unload your vehicle for you.
Other Peel sites Brampton residents can use
Any Peel resident can use any of the Region’s six Community Recycling Centres, which are listed on its locations page. The four outside Brampton:
| Site | Address |
|---|---|
| Battleford CRC | 2255 Battleford Rd., Mississauga |
| Fewster CRC | 1126 Fewster Dr., Mississauga |
| Bolton CRC | 109 Industrial Rd., Bolton |
| Caledon CRC | 1795 Quarry Dr., Caledon |
Check each site’s own page for hours before you go. Caledon CRC takes up to 150 kg of yard waste free, then charges 14.5 cents per kilogram, the fees page says; regular fees apply at Bolton.
If you live in Mississauga, our Mississauga garbage collection schedule guide covers curbside days there.
What sells at Heart Lake CRC
Heart Lake CRC sells two things for home composting, while supplies last:
- Backyard composters: $22 including tax, sold April to June. Each holds 300 L (80 gal).
- Kitchen containers: $5 each.
Peel’s fees page lists the same items at Fewster and Bolton.
Does the City of Brampton run the dump?
No. The Region of Peel runs the Community Recycling Centres. The City of Brampton will take over curbside garbage, organics and yard waste collection on October 1, 2027, and Peel will keep running the CRCs after that change, as our Brampton recycling guide explains. For problems with a CRC, contact Peel, not Brampton 311.
What this means for you
Brampton dump hours are the same every day except holidays, so check Peel’s holiday page before a dump run on any long weekend. Separate your load at home: keep appliances, metal, electronics and recycling apart from garbage so those go in free and only the garbage is weighed.
For fall cleanup, use the curb first. Bagged leaves and your Halloween pumpkin go out free on yard waste day until early December. Save the CRC for the overflow, for hazardous waste like old paint cans, and for things that will never fit at the curb.
Before you go, have three things in the car: proof of a Peel address, a card (not cash) and a way to tie down the load.
