What is The Rose Brampton?

The Rose Brampton is a City of Brampton theatre in the downtown core, run by Brampton On Stage, the City’s performing arts team. Brampton On Stage also runs LBP Theatre, Cyril Clark Theatre and Garden Square, and presents its own series (The Rose Presents and the Arts Adventures season) alongside shows by rental clients.

The building, as the venue describes it:

  • an 868-seat, horseshoe-shaped main theatre where the farthest seat is about 90 feet from the stage
  • Studio Two, a second hall for performances, meetings and social events (up to 100 people)
  • a two-level atrium lobby
  • a 600-car underground parking garage directly beneath the theatre
  • a full fly tower and a building pre-wired for TV and video

The main theatre and Studio Two can run at the same time, so two events may share the lobby on a busy night.

Where to park for the Rose Theatre in Brampton

The Market Square Parking Garage sits directly under The Rose and is the easiest place to park. The City’s visitor page says it has 4 levels, an elevator up to the lobby, accessible parking near the elevators on each level, and electric vehicle charging stations.

Parking at The Rose is free for the first two hours. After that it costs $1 per half-hour, up to a $9 daily maximum, and it’s free all day on weekends and holidays. The City reintroduced paid parking at its downtown garages on March 3, 2025.

Worked out from the City’s posted rate: first 2 hours free, then $1 per half-hour, $9 daily maximum.

Overflow parking downtown

If the garage fills up, the City lists three more downtown garages:

  • City Hall Parking Garage, 2 Wellington Street West
  • West Tower Parking Garage, 41 George Street
  • Nelson Square Parking Garage, 9 Diplock Lane

Avoid parking on residential side streets for a long show. Brampton’s on-street parking rules and fines apply downtown too.

Getting to The Rose by transit

The Rose is close to the Brampton GO station and on Brampton Transit routes. The Brampton Downtown Transit Terminal is two blocks north of Garden Square, at Main Street and Nelson Street, according to Brampton On Stage.

Transit makes sense for weekday shows, when parking costs apply after two hours. Our Brampton Transit guide to fares and PRESTO explains what a trip costs. Before a late show, check the last bus or train home on the Brampton Transit or GO Transit trip planner.

Ticket limits, refunds and resale

  • Online limit: a maximum of 4 tickets per online transaction, the box office says. Call for larger orders.
  • Groups: the City’s ticketing policy says group discounts may apply to 10 or more tickets for a single Rose-presented performance.
  • Refunds: the policy says payments are not refunded unless a show is cancelled.
  • Exchanges: possible between Rose-presented events, subject to availability and charges. Shows by outside rental clients follow that client’s rules.
  • Resale: the City is the only official seller and says it is not responsible for tickets bought from resellers or other third parties. Altered tickets are void.
  • Babies: infants 12 months and younger may sit on a lap for free at age-appropriate events. Everyone else, including infants in car seats, needs a ticket.
  • Picking up tickets: bring photo ID. Tickets are released only to the person named on the order unless you arrange it ahead.

Accessibility at The Rose

The Rose is barrier-free, with elevators linking the parking garage, the lobby and the balcony, and ramped access at both main entrances. Brampton On Stage asks patrons to contact the box office before a visit so staff can plan for their needs.

What the venue offers:

  • Accessible seating for people using mobility devices. Mention it when you buy tickets.
  • Assistive listening devices, free from the box office.
  • Accessible washrooms on both sides of the theatre on both floors, with a baby changing station in the downstairs right accessible washroom.
  • AccessBOS: a free enrolment program that gives a free companion ticket, early entry for relaxed seating, help at pick-up and drop-off points, and staff trained as sighted guides.
  • Access 2 Card: cardholders who need a support person can get a free ticket for that person.

To join AccessBOS, fill out the online form on the Brampton On Stage accessibility page.

Rose Theatre rules: food, photos, coats and latecomers

The Rose has a short list of house rules, posted on its Plan Your Visit page.

  • Dress code: none.
  • Coat check: free, next to the entrance of Studio II.
  • Food and drink: no outside food or drinks in the lobby or theatre. Empty reusable water bottles are fine, with refill stations in the lobby. Snacks and drinks bought at the theatre bar can usually go to your seat.
  • Bar service: most Rose events have bars in the main lobby and balcony, open an hour before showtime and at intermission. You can pre-order intermission drinks to skip the line.
  • Photos and video: allowed at some events and banned at others. Ask front-of-house staff or check the signs. No flash, ever.
  • Phones: ringers off during the show.
  • Scents: skip perfume and scented products, because of allergies.
  • Latecomers: seated at a suitable break, at staff discretion.
  • Lost and found: call 905-874-2800.

The Rose also runs backstage tours led by front-of-house staff. Groups can request one through a form on the Plan Your Visit page.
