How many wards does Brampton have?

Brampton has 10 wards, and the City groups them into five pairs. Each pair elects one city councillor and one regional councillor, and the whole city elects the mayor. That makes a council of the mayor plus 10 councillors. The current ward boundaries were set in 2014.

Did Brampton’s ward boundaries change for 2026?

No. Brampton’s ward boundaries for the 2026 election are the same ones used since 2014. The City began a ward boundary review in 2024 and put two realignment options to the public. On March 26, 2025, the City said Council had paused the review while it waited for provincial decisions on regional services and representation.

The City’s ward boundary review page states that the current boundaries “will remain in effect for the 2026 municipal election.” If you voted in your ward in 2022 and haven’t moved, you’re in the same ward now.

How to find your ward in Brampton

You only need your street address to find your Brampton ward. Use one of these:

Brampton ward map graphic showing three steps: search your address, see your ward pair, vote in your ward on October 26
  1. Find My Ward map. Open the City’s Find My Ward map and search your address.
  2. Where Do I Vote tool. Enter your address in the City’s Where Do I Vote tool. It shows your voting locations for October 26, and the City says it also shows wait times.
  3. Your voter notice. If one came in the mail, it lists your voting locations. Bring it with you, but it doesn’t count as ID.
  4. The PDF ward maps. The City posts a city-wide ward map and a separate map for each ward on its current ward boundaries page. Each ward map also shows City facilities inside it.

If you live close to a ward line, trust the address search over the PDF. Boundaries follow streets and property lines that are hard to read on a city-wide map.

Which races are on your ballot, by ward

Your ward pair sets your council races, and your school support sets your trustee race. These counts come from the City’s certified candidate list, signed by the City Clerk on August 25, 2026. Everyone in Brampton also votes for mayor, with 12 candidates.

Catholic school board areas are grouped differently. Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board trustees are elected for Wards 1, 3 and 4; Wards 2, 5 and 6; and Wards 7, 8, 9 and 10, with three candidates in each. The French public board (Conseil scolaire Viamonde) has one race across the whole city, and the French Catholic trustee was acclaimed.

What your ward means on October 26

Your ward matters most on Voting Day. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 26, you can vote at any location in your own ward, and only there. Advance voting worked differently: you could use any advance location in the city. The last advance day is Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 10 locations.

Our Brampton election day guide covers hours, ID and what to do if you’re not on the voters’ list.

What this means for you

Look up your ward before October 26, not on the morning you vote. It takes one address search, and it tells you three things: your ward pair, your councillor races, and the voting locations you can use. If you’ve moved since 2022, your ward may have changed even though the boundaries didn’t. Check that your address is right on the City’s Am I On the List tool.
