Where to get flu shots in Brampton

There are three ways to get flu shots in Brampton this season: a participating pharmacy, your own doctor or nurse practitioner (or a walk-in clinic), or a Peel Public Health clinic. Which one works depends mostly on your child’s age, and on whether you want the high-dose vaccine for seniors.

Peel Public Health is run by the Region of Peel, the regional government behind part of your bill in our Brampton property tax explainer. Its booking system also handles COVID-19 and RSV appointments, so one visit can cover all three for people who qualify.

Is the flu shot free without an Ontario health card?

Yes. Peel Region says the flu vaccine is free to anyone 6 months or older, and that you don’t need an Ontario health card to get it at a pharmacy, a community health centre or a Peel Public Health clinic. Ontario’s program covers anyone who lives, works or goes to school in the province.

Peel’s own clinics have one extra rule: the booking system says you must live or go to school in the Region of Peel to attend.

Which flu shot should seniors get?

Adults 65 and older in Brampton can choose from three flu vaccines in the 2026–2027 season: standard-dose, adjuvanted and high-dose. Ontario says the national vaccine committee (NACI) recommends the adjuvanted or high-dose vaccine for seniors over the standard dose, if available.

Peel Public Health clinics do not offer the high-dose flu vaccine, according to Peel’s booking page. If you want it, ask your family doctor, a walk-in clinic or a pharmacy. Ontario also says any flu vaccine is better than none, so don’t skip a shot because your first choice is out of stock.

How to book a Peel Public Health appointment

  1. Open Peel Region’s online booking system, or call 905-799-7700.
  2. Create a profile, or sign in if you used the system before.
  3. Choose a flu, COVID-19 or RSV appointment. Peel says the vaccines you’re eligible for are offered at the same appointment, so you don’t need separate bookings.
  4. Arrive for your time. Walk-ins are not accepted.

What this means for you

If you’re 65 or older, pregnant, or have a young child or a chronic health condition, you can book now. Everyone else in Brampton can book for October 26 or later. Ontario says the flu shot takes about two weeks to take full effect, so getting it early in the season gives you protection before flu activity usually rises in late fall.

Call your pharmacy before you go: Ontario’s own page tells people to confirm vaccine supply first. This is general information, not medical advice. Talk to your doctor, nurse practitioner or pharmacist about what’s right for you, or call Health811 at 811.
